MONET: The Late Years

Through 52 paintings, the exhibition will trace the evolution of Monet’s practice from 1913, when he embarked on a reinvention of his painting style that led to increasingly bold and abstract works, up to his death in 1926. Assembled from major public and private collections in Europe, the United States, and Asia, including holdings from the Kimbell Art Museum and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Monet: The Late Years will include more than twenty examples of Monet’s beloved water-lily paintings.

In addition, the exhibition will showcase many other extraordinary and unfamiliar works from the artist’s final years, several of which will be seen for the first time in the United States. Majestic panoramas will be displayed alongside late easel paintings, demonstrating Monet’s continued vitality and variety as a painter. This exhibition will redefine Monet—widely known as the greatest landscape painter of the Impressionists—as one of the most original artists of the modern age.

Threads

In partnership with Artes de la Rosa, Art Tooth is excited to present “Threads”, a group exhibition, opening Fall Gallery Night and continuing to be on display until October 4, 2019. “Threads” explores the literal and figurative meaning of the term with pieces that utilize fabric or representation of fabric. The exhibition also references “threads” as a connection between people. We invite viewers to recognize the many connections they are making when entering the gallery. Whether it’s a personal connection to a piece, artist to viewer, reminders of family figures in the piece, the friends and family you attend the exhibit with, or the friends you meet at the exhibit art sets in motion a plethora of connections that weave the creation of a community.

Reanimating Nancy Lamb's fantastical fusions of natural and imaginary creatures, the new 2D series amplifies the character of the unique handwrought figures. On display alongside the new works will be rare original ceramic pieces that inspired the show.

Picking Up the Pieces

Fort Works Art is pleased to present Picking Up the Pieces, a solo exhibition featuring Brooklyn-based artist Eric Inkala in our Main Gallery. The exhibition will run from September 4 through September 28, 2019, with an artist reception on Saturday, September 7th for Fort Worth’s Fall Gallery Night. ‘Picking Up the Pieces’ is Inkala’s return to the gallery following his participation in the massive group show #28grams in 2017 and comprises over fifteen acrylic on canvas paintings created within the last year. Focusing on large-scale works, he has produced several monumental 7ft by any artist 7ft pieces that are the largest the artist has ever created for a gallery setting.

In the same vein as KAWS and Keith Haring, Eric Inkala’s graffiti-turned-contemporary paintings depict environments of emotional expression and abstract escapades emphasized by bold color palettes. He uses a vocabulary full of cartoon-like imagery to explore and work through themes of love, mortality, coping and coming back from loss.
