About the Artist

Chip Tompkins constructs poetic snapshots of Americana revolving around small-Texas towns, open landscapes, and their singular inhabitants. Tompkins, a Fort Worth native, has pursued film photography and videography for more than a decade and has been at the helm of high-profile regional and national productions for musical artists Ronnie Heart and Leon Bridges. In his work he seeks to capture a fleeting moment. “Twenty-four photographs a second are at the root of all films,” he says, “the uniqueness, wonder, and feeling of each frame is what inspires me.”
